Particles are solid objects ranging from
millimeters in size to one millionth of a millimeter.
The size determines whether they are floating in
the air or if they fall to the floor.
A large amount of particles enters buildings from
the air outside. How many particles that enter depends on the building
ventilation system, if there are leaks and how the building is
ventilated.
Particles can also occur indoors. Tobacco smoke,
gas flames in stoves, burning candles, cooking, textiles, cleaning etc.
give rise to particles.
Some of the indoor particles are skin particles
from people living on the premises.
How you are affected by particles depends on the
amount, size and occurrence of harmful substances in or on the particle
surface. Indoor air should have as low levels of particles as possible. |

ACU smoke room cleaner proves that air treated
with air purification technology improves the condition of students and
teachers suffering from
-
asthma
-
hay fever
-
allergies
-
depressionsr
-
fatigue
-
headache
Particles purified with classroom cleaners exist
in different sizes according to below:
-
nanoparticles, approx.
0.0001-0.05 μm, which for instance corresponds to larger gas
molecules, very small viruses or metal dust
-
ultrafine particles, about
0.05-0.1 μm, which include oil mist, large viruses, large metallic
dust, tobacco smoke
-
submicronic particles about
0.1-1 μm, such as bacteria and tobacco smoke
-
grova partiklar,
större än 1 µm, som t.ex. omfattar hushållsdamm, pollen och synlig
smuts
-
coarse particles, larger than 1
μm, such as household dust, pollen and visible dirt
Particles which are 40 μm or larger are visible
to the eye.

ACU
is highly efficient against the very smallest particles and the
purifying effect is very significant and quick for particles less than
0.3um.
Researchers have found that this purification technique efficiently
removes small particles. (Lehtimäki) |
